AASCG Camps

Deadline for Camp Sign Up

Day Camp

Age Groups

We are really looking forward to our camps this summer, and hoping to have you participate with us.  Most camps go through 7th grade because we have internship possibilities for high school students.

Early Elementary

We have several opportunities for our early elementary kids this summer.  If you are unsure if your child is a fit for our groups, please do not hesitate to e-mail us for more information!  Day Camp at Camp Hargis is also a great opportunity for kids of this age that are ready for outdoor experience, but not ready to stay the night away from home.  Click on Day Camp above for more information.

Young Adults

Young Adult Social Group will continue throughout the summer.  Please let us know if you want to be on our mass distribution list.  You have to be an individual with Asperger Syndrome (or similar characteristics) to be able to participate.

Fall Social Groups

We are already planning for social groups for the Fall.  Birmingham groups will not start back until Tuesday, September 2nd to allow all students time to adjust back to being in school.  Additional services are available during this time to help with adjustment back into school; however, social groups will not resume until after Labor Day.  Group times and dates are subject to change, and may not be the same time and date as they were during 2007-2008 school year.  We will follow the school schedule for holidays, and will not meet during December 2008.

Your input determines group placement and scheduling.  Please let us know if any goals have changed for your student.  We will be looking at the following settings:  home rotations, community locations, church gymnasiums, and restaurants.  Home rotations are typically for elementary to middle school age groups that are focused on interaction and social readiness.  Community locations are typcially for groups working on various skills. Church gymnasiums are typically for large group work, specifically adolescents who are focusing on team building and group work.  Restaurants are mostly for conversation based groups.

August Services Offered
  • Teacher Training
  • Development of Organizational Systems
  • Development of Homework Routine
  • Generalization of Social Skills Rules into School Environment (only for students in social groups in 2007-2008 school year)
